ABOUT
Welcome to my portfolio! As a lifelong artist and an educator with over a decade of experience teaching secondary art and photography, I am passionate about the learned experience of process art and the constructive power of narrative imagery. Both my formal and informal training focused more on three-dimensional artforms, exploring ceramics, fiber, metals, and jewelry. Something has shifted and in the last 3 years have I become more interested in working with watercolor, with a return to photography, and alternative photographic techniques like cyanotypes and transfers. I invite you to explore my work and discover the stories each piece.

My work is about recognizing the patterns that reside in the grid of centuries- old alleyways and in the materials and forms that we associate with wealth or decline, stagnation and transformation, love and remembrance. As an expat from an early age, I was drawn then as I am now to finding language in visual symbols, the ones we are taught to associate certain cultural meaning with and the ones that emerge as significant to our own personal narratives. These artworks are representations, fantasies and fictions, sometimes with origin stories and subplots, and serve as my effort to process the emotions flooding over from the world of words.
